All upcoming Star Wars Shows and what to expect

Andor – August 31st 2022

How do you make a T.V show about a character who died in a movie which was criticized for not having good characters? Ask Tony Gilroy. The Jason Bourne trilogy writer is the lead writer for the story of Cassian Andor’s rise through the ranks of the growing rebellion. Diego Luna is reprising his role as Cassian Andor whilst Genevieve O’Reilly is playing Mon Mothma. It will also feature Stellan Skarsgård and Fiona Shaw.

Tales of the Jedi – Fall 2022

The new animated show created by Dave Filoni is six episodes long. Three will be focused on ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ fan favourite, Ahsoka Tano. Her episodes will follow her birth and induction into the Jedi order as well as showing her journey after Order 66. Count Dooku will also feature as we see the beginning of his eventual downfall and turn to the dark side.

The Bad Batch – September 28th 2022

The second series will follow our favourite batch of clones as they meet different allies and foes along the way. We will see the return of Commander Cody, Captain Rex and Wookie Jedi Gungi. Clone force 99 will also showcase their newly painted armour.

The Mandalorian Season 3 – February 2023

Not much is known about the new series of ‘The Mandalorian’ however after a leaked trailer at Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim 2022 we now know that it is focused on Din Djarin’s journey to get redemption after removing his helmet. It is assumed that Bo Katan will act as an antagonist, played by Katee Sackhoff. Rick Famuyiwa is now an executive producer as well as a director, Bryce Dallas Howard and Carl Weathers will also direct with the latter co-starring alongside Pedro Pascal and Giancarlo Esposito.

Young Jedi Adventures – Spring 2023

Set in the high republic it is “The first full-length animated Star Wars series created for preschoolers, early grade schoolers, and their families, these original stories will follow Younglings as they are swept off into adventures, and start their journeys on the path to becoming Jedi Knights, learning valuable skills for our galaxy and the galaxy far, far away.” As stated on the official Star Wars website.

Star Wars Visions Volume 2 – Spring 2023

Different countries will be able to showcase their own animation styles in this next instalment of Star Wars Visions.

Ahsoka – 2023

We will continue Ahsoka’s story after the events of ‘The Mandalorian Season 2’. In this new show created by Dave Filoni, the creator of ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’, ‘Star Wars: Rebels’ and ‘Star Wars: The Bad Batch’, we will see Ahsoka’s journey as well as meeting a few familiar faces from ‘Star Wars: Rebels’ along the way. Rosario Dawson is tackling the role of Ahsoka Tano once more with Natasha Liu Bordizzo playing Sabin Wren as well as a likely appearance from Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka’s former master.

Skeleton Crew – 2023

Jon Watts, the director of the most recent Spiderman trilogy, is teaming up with Christopher Ford to create an all new show set in between episodes VI and VII. Jude Law, the actor of Dumbledore in ‘Fantastic Beasts’ has been cast in an unknown role. It will follow a group of children lost in space. It has previously been described as “Stranger Things in Space”.

The Acolyte – 2024 (estimate)

Creator of ‘Russian Doll’, Leslye Headland is creating this new Star Wars adventure set during the final days of the High Republic. It will most likely show Darth Plagueis’ and Sidious’ journeys as Sith.

Lando – TBA

Lando is being helmed by Justin Simien and it will most likely feature Donald Glover’s Lando Calrissian after the events of ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’. Kathleen Kennedy has not commented on the show since its announcement so it will probably be a long way away.
